In his blog post, “The Sexless Relationship,” Bishop Craig makes the point that Puritanism, The Women’s Movement, The Men’s Movement, and religion haven’t done American sex lives any good. Americans are conflicted about sex and sexuality, and sexless marriages are one result. In general, couples in a sexless marriage are given advice about how to “rekindle the fire.” The idea is that there should be sex in a marriage, and that it’s important even if “men need sex in order to feel intimacy with their partners, while women need intimacy to feel sexual.” He points out that everyone says “no” sometimes, but when “no” becomes all the time, the resulting “sexless” marriage will cause problems.
